I went to the opening program of this year's New York City Bicycle Film Festival at the Anthology Film Archives. The first program was a bunch of shorts, the most notable was Made in Queens, about a group of kids who live in Queens who rig up sound systems to their bicycles and bring a DIY spirit and music wherever they pedal. I thought the photography and sound editing were great, and the story was pretty uplifting.
The short films were followed by the feature Where Are You Go which followed a group of riders doing the Tour d'Afrique--Egypt to South Africa by bicycle. It was more of a travel documentary with bike-love thrown in. Totally awesome.
