Just by random I ended up at the Jonathan Mannion opening at Milk Gallery (450 W. 15th St., between 9th and 10th Aves.) He's the photographer behind a lot of iconic photographs of hip-hop artists, athletes, and other notables. He did the shot of Jay-Z for the Reasonable Doubt cover and other images like:
I've seen and liked a lot of his work through the years but never knew it was all by the same photographer. He also included a wall with Polaroid proofs from various sessions:
The show is up until July 11. Go see it and reminisce.
